59 years old - US Army Republic of Viet Nam Veteran from 1967-68 with the 2Bn / 28th Inf, 1st Inf Division.
 Service all over the world in many remote positions.
 Ribbons include The Silver Star and Purple Hearts.

15 year active duty another 7 in the Reserves.
 From 91A10 Private through 91C30 NCO to CWO 3 Physician Assistant.
 Still very active in Family Practice Medicine in the rural Northwest Washington State.

Rick and his wife sponsor the Northwest Stand Down on their ranch every couple of years
 and maintain a unique Memorial Complex to All Combat Medics.

Rick is a Past National Officer and has been involved with "Doc's helping Doc's" (NAMC) for the past 10 years.

Doc Kerry Pardue

Kerry "Doc" Pardue, the eldest of 6 brothers and sisters. Raised in Detroit, Michigan, and Sauk Village, Ill.  After high school attended college for a year and was drafted into the Army but extended additional year to become a Combat Medic.  Was assigned to three units in Vietnam.  755th Medical Detachment, assigned to 170th Assault Helicopter Company in Plieku; 8th Medical Detachment, assigned to the 155th Assault Helicopter Company in Ban Me Thout; and Recon, 2/47th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division in Binh Phouc.

 Spent most of my time as a field medic, I served until March 23, 1969 and came home forever changed.  Spend my last 10 months in Mannheim, Germany with the 546th Medical Dispensary.

Between, Vietnam and Germany I married Stephanie Jones.  Her first husband was killed in Vietnam with 1st Bn. 7th Marines during Operation Allen brook.  Doc Kerry  settled down in Illinois then moved to Virginia and have lived in Arizona since 1981.  They raised 3 children and 7 grandchildren.

Stephanie works as a care giver.   He worked as a police officer, letter carrier and college recruiter after the Army.  I became 100% service connected disabled in November 2002.

I am a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, VFW, NAMC, and on the board of directors of the Sharon Lane Foundation.  I have finished my first book, POEMS IN THE KEYS OF LIFE: Reflections of a combat medic, Publish America, April 2005, http://www.freewebs.com/kerrypardue .  Doc Kerry is currently working on his second book entitled, RICE PADDY STEW & SAIGON TEA, a novel about the doctor and 8 medics he was assigned  with in Vietnam and our reunion after 35 years.
